Years of growth had left the firm with many databases on ageing, mixed hardware. Batch jobs ran into business hours, reports queued, and every new product added load. Each platform needed its own patching and licensing, and audit teams wanted consistent controls across all of them. Regulators had asked for evidence of tested DR for the whole estate, which was hard to give with the current spread.

• Profiled workloads and grouped databases by criticality, size and peak pattern.
• Designed the Exadata target with RAC for availability and Data Guard for recovery, with a second Exadata at a DR site.
• Migrated databases in waves with rehearsed cutovers and tested rollback plans.
• Tuned SQL, storage and resource plans so mixed workloads share the platform fairly.
• Standardized patching, backup and monitoring through Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Handed over into steady-state DBA support with regular DR drills and audit-ready evidence.
